saw pruthvi movie yesterday. i was actually mislead by media reviews till yesterday. all media reviews are a sham and are paid to be so! its a wonderful movie both as an independent movie and in its script. its a very good movie showing the naked truth of bellary mining. a rare film that makes a statement, made with great concern, conviction and guts.

i was reminded of mani ratnams films! yes they have adopted his style of scripting. usually mani would be telling you a personal story of the central characters who are stricken with some turmoil. the movie doesn't go out of this frame. but in the backdrop he would have dealt with a major national issue of relevance! similarly pruthvi tells you the story of an upright IAS officer, his dreams, efficiency, honesty, family...but in the backdrop very effectively portrays bellary today in the most realistic way. he deals with the issue really very well. kudos to the team! 

as a movie also it has a very tight script, though with some glitches in the climax, every role is well defined , amazing camera work, good editing - especially a montage song, amazing!, hummable music good casting and acting. what else do you want from a movie? 

what i observed and felt happy was that even the front benchers were politically educated about one of the very major issues bothering our state today. a housefull theatre watched the movie spellbound! what an impact?! i am convinced that no media coverage on the issue, no articles, not even books can have such an impact on those who matter! 

thanks for the entire pruthvi team for making such a film. we all should support this effort for the benifit of both our society and kannada filmland. dayavittu hogi cinema nodi banni, bandu innoo nalku janakke heli.
